Learn About the Hennepin County Sheriff's Office

Would you like to tour the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Crime Lab? Tour the Jail? Patrol Headquarters? Meet our K-9’s and watch them conduct an apprehension demonstration? Apply today for the Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office Citizen Law Enforcement Academy and you will get an inside look at the Sheriff’s Office.

Hennepin County Sheriff Rich Stanek invites you to participate in this hands-on academy. During classes you will learn about the Sheriff’s Office DWI enforcement, responsibilities of the patrol division and narcotics unit, tour the Hennepin County Jail and Courts.

The academy is a must for anyone who just wants to learn how law enforcement and the criminal justice system work. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and will be screened for criminal backgrounds. There is no charge to participate.

Classes are Wednesday evenings from 6:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and will be held at several different locations in Minneapolis and the suburban area. Transportation is not provided.

The spring session begins April 14, 2012. If you are interested in this program, please submit an application as soon as possible.
