Hopkins Woman Hit by Taxi Still in Critical Condition

Tonia Sorenson, 38, was hit Friday night while walking in Uptown.

A Hopkins woman hit by a taxi while walking in Uptown was still in critical condition Tuesday, a Hennepin County Medical Center spokeswoman said.

Tonia Sorenson, 38, was hit Friday night just after stepping into the street at the intersection of Hennepin Avenue and Lake Street. Three other women with Sorenson had minor injuries but declined treatment.

Sorenson’s family asked the hospital to tell the community that, “They are relying on their faith at this time, and they think everyone for their thoughts and prayers.”
