A Hopkins woman is in jail on suspicion of threatening to shoot her neighbor and insulting the neighbor’s religion.
The unidentified victim called police at 9:41 p.m. Monday to report that 53-year-old Myrna Rae Erickson approached her and her children in a garage stall, Detective Renee Meuwissen wrote in the charging documents.
The woman—believed to be Islamic, according to police—said Erickson insulted her religion and said she wanted to shoot her. She added that Erickson had threatened her before and that she was scared of her.
An unidentified man said he heard Erickson scream multiple times that she would kill the woman, according to the court documents.
Prosecutors have charged Erickson with felony terroristic threats, which carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. She’s being held in the Hennepin County jail on $5,000 bail.
