Police received a report at 8:03 a.m. of gunshots at Lindee’s. Glassberg said there had been a dispute between the suspect and the Lindee's owner prior to the incident.

Officers secured the perimeter and established telephone contact. During the call, officers heard a struggle between the owner and the man.

The struggle that police heard over the phone involved the owner trying to "take control" of the suspect, Glassberg said. Investigators are still looking into whether the owner tried to take the gun.

A team of officers then entered the building and detained the person they suspected of the shooting.

Glassberg expects it to be at least 48 hours before the investigation is finished and reports are complete.

The Hennepin County Sheriff’s Office and the St. Louis Park Police Department assisted in the case.
