Hopkins police are investigating a robbery at gunpoint that took place last week in the southern part of the city.

A Blaine man first reported the robbery to police at 4:48 a.m. July 3. However, he went home and officers advised him to return to make a report and issue a statement, according to police records.

He later told officers that he and another man had been robbed by multiple suspects using a handgun, Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg said. The robbery took place late on the night of July 2 near the intersection of Ninth Avenue South and Westbrooke Way.
