Hopkins Police Duties Unaltered by Bin Laden's Death

Police say they'll remain vigilant but don't plan any other changes.

Hopkins Police say they are not making any changes in response to the death of Osama bin Laden—although they remain on the lookout for suspicious activity, as usual.

The al-Qaida leader’s death brought fears of retaliatory attacks. U.S. embassies are on alert, and the State Department cautioned travelers to be vigilant.

But closer to home, Hopkins Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg said officers are not focusing on any additional issues from the counterterrorism action. Police will keep the concerns in the back of their mind and go about their day-to-day business as they have been in the post-9/11 world.
