Police say they found methamphetamine and Xanax when they searched Michael Thomas Fann's Hopkins apartment.

A Hopkins man is facing felony drug charges after police say they found methamphetamine and anti-depressant pills in his home.

Michael Thomas Fann, 26, is charged with two counts of fifth-degree drug possession, each of which carries a maximum penalty of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine.

Members of the Southwest Hennepin Drug Task Force executed a search warrant at Fann’s apartment in the 900 block of 11th Avenue South on Oct. 2, according to the criminal complaint, signed by Hennepin County Sheriff’s Deputy Todd Hinz.

During their search, officers found suspected methamphetamine and syringes containing unidentified liquid on a bedroom nightstand and 15 pills of Xanax, a prescription antidepressant, in a bedroom closet.

Fann arrived home during the search. He later admitted that he didn’t have a prescription for the Xanax, the complaint states.
