Hopkins Hit By More Vehicle Break-ins

Someone broke into 18 vehicles parked on 11th Avenue South.

Hopkins saw another rash of vehicle break-ins over the weekend—and this time a vehicle was stolen, according to a police department news release.

On Sunday, police found that someone smashed windows on 18 vehicles parked in an underground garage on the zero block of 11th Avenue South. Police think the break-ins happened early in the morning.

Details about the stolen vehicle weren’t immediately available.

A resident on the same property later reported a home burglary that happened during the same time. Someone entered the home through an unlocked door and stole personal belongings.

The thefts are similar to an incident two weeks ago in which parked in underground garages along Blake Road and Hiawatha Avenue.

Police ask residents to be careful to lock car doors and remove expensive items from inside the vehicle. They ask anyone who sees suspicious activity to call 911 immediately.
