Highway 7/Blake Road Intersection Ranks 10th Worst in State

The intersection had 124 crashes between 2006 and 2010.

The Highway 7 and Blake Road/Aquila Avenue intersection near the Hopkins and St. Louis Park border is the 10th most dangerous in the state, MinnPost determined using five years of data from the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

Between 2006 and 2010, the intersection tallied two crashes with moderate injuries, 55 with minor injuries and 67 with property damage. The 124 total crashes resulted in 1.29 crashes per million vehicles entering the intersection.

MinnPost noted that engineers recently reshaped the intersection, which should cut down at crashes.
