Fire Department to Host Open House Saturday

The event includes food, demonstrations and fire truck rides.

Ever wanted to see the inner workings of the Fire Department. Now’s your chance.

The Hopkins Fire Department is hosting its annual open house from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

There will be live fire demonstrations, fire truck rides and fire-prevention tips. The department will also have kids fire helmets. And while you’re there, enjoy free food—hot dogs, potato chips, popcorn, ice cream and orange drink.

Bring a non-perishable food item for the food shelf , and the Hopkins Noon-Time Lions will give you a free bag of mini-donuts.

The event takes place at the Hopkins Fire Department (101 17th Ave S.). Parking is available south of the Fire Department and at the Ubah Medical Academy parking lot.
