Doh! Underage Drinker Hands Officer False ID After Reporting Theft

The woman has been charged with giving a false name and birth date, drinking underage and presenting someone else's driver's license.

Here’s a little tip: If you want to report a theft, it’s probably not the best time to be drinking underage. If you do drink underage, better not hand the officer a fake ID.

That’s the lesson a 20-year-old Andover woman learned early Saturday morning at the .

A police officer went to the restaurant at 2:13 a.m. to speak with her about an unspecified theft, according to charging documents written by Hopkins Detective Erik Husevold.

The officer saw her swaying and could smell alcohol on her breath. She said she was 21 years old, although she initially claimed she didn’t have any ID to prove it. When the officer asked her how she got into the bar without ID, she produced a driver’s license with the photo of someone the officer said didn’t resemble her.

“Well, it is,” the woman responded.

She eventually admitted her real name was Samantha Rose Marion when the officer asked her for another form of an ID and she produced an insurance card with that name.

Marion has been charged with giving a false name and birth date, drinking underage and presenting someone else’s driver license.
