Police Say Man Destroyed Toilet In Former Home

Two men are accused of breaking into a 16th Avenue North home—leading to a burglary charge against one and a trespassing charge against the other.

Prosecutors have filed charges against a man who broke into the home he once rented and destroyed a toilet in a rage.

Police went to 338 16th Ave. N. at 2:43 a.m. Oct. 13 following a report of a burglary in progress. Officers surrounded the home and used a squad vehicle’s PA system to order those inside to come out with their hands up, Police Sgt. Michael Glassberg wrote in charging documents filed Oct. 16.

Two men emerged from the home: 26-year-old Jeremy James Morgan and 25-year-old Elliot Casey Brady.

Morgan told officers after his arrest that he pushed the main door open to get inside the home, became irate and damaged the toilet.

Brady, who is homeless, declined to talk with police.

Morgan has been charged with third-degree burglary, a felony that carries a maximum sentence of five years in prison and a $10,000 fine. He was released from jail without bail Wednesday.

Brady has been charged with misdemeanor trespassing, which carries a maximum sentence of 90 days in jail and a $1,000 fine. He was released from jail on $500 bond Oct. 17.
