(UPDATED) 6-Year-Old Dies in Drowning at Oak Ridge Country Club

The boy was pronounced dead after being taken to Hennepin County Medical Center.

A 6-year-old boy died after an apparent drowning at on Friday night, Hopkins Police report.

Hopkins police and fire responded to the country club at 6:24 p.m. following a report of a possible drowning. Officers and medical personnel found country club staff and members performing CPR on the child.

The boy was taken to Hennepin County Medical Center and later pronounced dead.

It’s not yet known how the drowning happened, but police remind parents to monitor their children around water.
