Blotter: Tense resident meetings, drunken reports and more

Monday, July 25

2:50 p.m. — Police received a report of a domestic assault on the 400 block of Blake Road.

7:49 p.m. — Someone stole license plates from a car parked on the 900 block of Woodhill Court.

10:25 p.m. — Police responded to a report that someone appeared to have tried to break into an apartment at . Officers found a screen off a window. However, the man who lived in the apartment was drunk and said he could have opened the door himself. He added that he think the screen was broken in a different incident. The man said he did not want to make a report.

Tuesday, July 26

12:19 p.m. — A resident reported that someone stole a bicycle and weed whacker, worth $320 total, over the weekend from inside an attached garage on the 200 block of Seventh Street South.

 

Wednesday, July 27

8:58 a.m. — A Hawthorne Road resident reported that a window at been broken.

5:52 p.m. — Someone stole a bicycle worth $150 from a home on the 1000 block of Second Street Northeast.

 

Thursday, July 28

7:47 a.m. — Methodist Hospital called in a report of an assault that happened earlier that morning near . The victim was in the emergency room when the report was made and planned to talk with police later.

6:13 p.m. — Officers responded to Raspberry Ridge Co-op following a tense gathering of residents. The residents were supposed to meet, but the meeting was cancelled because of the tensions and residents refused to leave. Things calmed down by the time police arrived.

 

Saturday, July 30

10:09 p.m. — Someone stole a bicycle from a Seventh Avenue South garage. The bicycle is a silver, black and red Trek mountain bike worth $70.

 

Sunday, July 31

2:33 p.m. — Two young men tried to steal a resident’s bicycle on the 9400 block of Excelsior Boulevard. One of the men kicked the victim in the knee and the other tried to take the bicycle.
