Blotter: ‘Inappropriate behavior’ and vehicle break-ins

A weekly selection of incidents drawn from Hopkins police files.

Tuesday, Sept. 20

  • 7:38 a.m. — Officers received reports of a half dozen vehicle break-ins that happened overnight. The burglaries happened on the 200 block of Interlachen Road, the 100 and 200 blocks of Ashley Road, the 200 block of Oakwood Road and the 100 block of Holly Road.

Wednesday, Sept. 21

  • 11:47 a.m. — Police received a report of a vehicle break-in on the 1400 block of Preston Lane.
  • 5:53 p.m. — A $520 bike was stolen from a storage unit at Peace Valley Townhomes.
  • 8:36 p.m. — Someone stole items from outside a Brentwood Apartments unit.

Thursday, Sept. 22

  • 12:16 a.m. — Police went to a Lamplighter Apartments unit after someone smelled marijuana there. No one answered the door, so a nuisance report was written up.
  • 5:44 p.m. — A man told police that someone tried to break in his apartment at Hopkins Park Plaza. It appeared that someone tried to kick in his door and scratch out the lock. 

Friday, Sept. 23

  • 1:03 p.m. —  told police that someone broke in the back and tried to gain entry to the lower level. Two rear doors were damaged.

  • 9:15 p.m. —  told police that a woman was “being inappropriate” by lifting up her shirt and asking men if they wanted sexual favors. She left and the bar promised to call back if she returned.
