Blotter: Extreme Exercise and Explicit Phone Calls

A twice-weekly selection of incidents drawn from Hopkins police files.

Monday, June 4

  • 2:16 p.m. — A caller reported a theft of an airless paint sprayer from a communal garage at 640 Oak Ridge Road.
  • 2:59 p.m. — A woman told police her boyfriend pushed her to the ground, punched her in the face and put a pillow over her head during an argument at Meadow Creek Condos.
  • 5:27 p.m. — A Harrison Avenue resident told police his Subaru Forrester was missing and that he’d seen it heading east on Excelsior while he was on a walk. Police later learned that his son forgot he parked the vehicle somewhere else.

Wednesday, June 6

  • 8:11 a.m. —  reported that someone discharged a fire extinguisher in a school bus, causing $100 damage.
  • 9:55 a.m. — Officers responded to a report of an unspecified theft on Harrison Avenue North.
  • 7:04 p.m. — A caller told police that two men were pulling a black Ford Explorer near Eisenhower Elementary with a rope. The men were residents who were exercising. Police did not have any issue with their activities.
  • 8:35 p.m. — A woman told police her daughter had received 10 inappropriate phone calls made from a blocked number and using a computer-generated voice. The last message was sexually explicit. Officers advised the woman on what to do.
  • 9:35 p.m. — A caller reported that an unattended 2-year-old was near the intersection of Cambridge Street and Texas Avenue and had almost been hit by a vehicle. The child was no longer there when officers arrived.

Thursday, June 7

  • 10:37 a.m. — An unspecified vehicle was stolen from Raspberry Ridge Co-op.
  • 4:05 p.m. — Someone stole cash, medication and a cell phone from Meadow Creek Condos.
  • 8:26 p.m. — The told police that a woman tried to forge a prescription.
