Thursday, May 31

  • 3:00 p.m. — A caller reported hearing popping noises near the railroad tracks by . Officers talked with two people about illegal use of fireworks.

Friday, June 1

  • 1:03 a.m. — A Cameron Court woman told police that some stole her dog off his lead.
  • 2:10 a.m. — Police went to following a report of a domestic assault. Officers arrested the 51-year-old man on suspision of felony domestic assault by strangulation. to read the full story.
  • 4:37 a.m. — A man was taken to the 1800 Chicago Service Center.
  • 4:44 p.m. —  reported that a woman in her late teens or early 20s was suspected of shoplifting and asked officers to issue her a trespass notice.
  • 6:23 p.m. — Police received a report of car prowlers in the lot. When they saw the caller approach, they left the area. Officers checked the lot, and everything appeared OK.
  • 7:05 p.m. — Officers learned about a fight involving several people at the intersectio of Fifth Street South and Sixth Avenue South. The people were gone when officers arrived.
  • 7:39 p.m. — A woman said a man kicked her dog when she walked by. The man was gone when officers arrived.

Saturday, June 2

  • 4:31 a.m. — A resident told police a neighbor came to the apartment and tried to push the door in. That woman then called police and said her boyfriend was in the apartment and that she’d be in another apartment. Officers talked to all the people involved.
  • 4:58 a.m. — Police received another report that the Creekview resident accused of trying to push the door in was calling a neighbor and yelling at her over the phone.
  • 6:53 a.m. — Police again received a report from Creekview that someone was slamming doors and yelling.
  • 10:36 a.m. — Police went to a 19th Avenue home for a report of an unspecified theft.
  • 3:57 p.m. — A Shadyside Circle caller told police money was taken from her purse.

Sunday, June 3

  • 10:05 a.m. —  reported that someone broke into a change machine.
  • 5:21 p.m. — An Oxford Street homeowner told police a neighbor had been running her lawnmower for more than an hour without mowing the lawn. The caller thought the woman was doing it to intentionally annoy people in the neighborhood who have friends over. Officers talked with the woman about the noise and her actions.
