Blotter: Chainsaw Scares and Trick-or-Treat Disputes

Monday, Oct. 24

  • 3:39 p.m. — The 11th Avenue told police that they had detained a suspected shoplifter.
  • 6:12 p.m. — Someone stole a hard drive from Meadow Creek Condos.
  • 6:24 p.m. — Two people were reported trying to pass stolen checks at a business on the 500 block of Blake Road.
  • 7:33 p.m. — Police responded to a dispute between an Ashley Road homeowner and a passerby. The dispute turned out to be an argument between two trick-or-treaters. Officers talked to the individuals about their conduct.
  • 9:04 p.m. — Officers talked to a 10th Avenue resident who had reportedly been scaring kids by chasing them with a chainsaw.

  • 10:30 a.m. — Police received a report that someone broke a window on a business on the 8600 block of Excelsior Boulevard, broke the phone and sprayed a fire extinguisher.
