Blotter: Broken Statues and Flying Trays

Monday, Feb. 20

• 10:18 a.m. — Someone broke into a Chevrolet Trailblazer while it was parked on the 600 block of Texas Avenue and stole $3 in items.
• 2:17 p.m. — Police learned that someone broke into a different Trailblazer while it was parked at on Feb. 18. Then somebody hit the vehicle the following day.

Tuesday, Feb. 21

• 12:50 p.m. — Employees at the Blake Road told police that a man threw a tray while arguing with a woman in the restaurant. The man left before officers arrived.

Wednesday, Feb. 22

• 1:23 p.m. — Police learned that someone stole taillights, worth $270, from a vehicle while it was parked at .
• 8:53 p.m. — A boy told police four men approached him at a bus stop near Mainstreet and Sixth Avenue South. One of the men took his backpack and another hit him in the face before running away.

Thursday, Feb. 23

• 4:45 p.m. — A man told police someone stole his gold Nissan Altima and the keys.
• 10:25 a.m. — Hopkins Auto Service reported that someone smashed a window and pried open a cash drawer.

Friday, Feb. 24

• 7:52 a.m. — A city statue near the Clock Tower was found to be broken.

Saturday, Feb. 25

• 12:15 p.m. — Police received a report of a woman in her 60s asking for money near Mainstreet and 11th Avenue North. They placed her on a psychiatric hold.
• 2:23 p.m. — A woman told police that her son was drunk and falling down and that she was frightened. Police placed him on a detox hold and took him to Hennepin County’s 1800 Chicago Service Center.
