The Creative Process Of Communication Through Art: By Artist Shelly D. Thomas

To artistically and successfully be able to bring forth art forms are blessings, when, it touches the hearts of the viewer! The goal is to enhance and bring insight and happiness to those coming in contact with the visual composition, of the artist.

My preference is medium to large scale oil paintings on canvas. I also love doings sketches on canvas. I enjoy Professional photography a lot, I photograph everything in sight, it's wonderful. I keep a camera with me always. I love the art of choreography: I've always wanted to take professional "Ballet," lessons. I think my family could not afford to nurture my artist abilities, even though they use to call me tippy toes because I use to dance as a toddler on my tip toes! I enjoy the art of writing as well. The art of sketching and designing clothes is something else I enjoy doing!

I also have a passion for music composed by artist such as: George Harrison, John Lennon, Barry White, The Newsboys, The Kinks, Adele, U2, Philips, Craig and Dean, John Debney, The Guess Who, Naked Eyes, Brian Heath, The Who, Jimi Hendrik, Jon Secada, Spyro Gyra, Herb Alpert, Earth Wind & Fire, Gary Hines With The Sounds Of Blackness and many more!

Other artist can influence another artists work!Pablo Picasso, Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, Rembrant van Rijn, Michelangelo Buonarroti, Claude Monet, Versailles, Leonardo da Vinci, Norman Rockwell  and Pierre-Auguste Renoir are just few on my list that are my favorite artists who painted! My art may have a few influences from the previous list above because I appreciate their skills! 

Art almost always have a message in it even if the viewer may misinterpret it. Art uplifts, enlightens, inspires, bring great joy or even remind one of an experience in ones life. The many forms of art can be educational to peaceful no matter what genre it comes in!

I believe my artistic skills are innate, a blessing from our creator Jehovah. I begin to express in my early childhood the gift of art. I use to sketch in elementary school in class and the teachers always called me out in front of the class. One day she took notice and pulled me out of class to question me. She said "That's a nice sketch, do you like doing art," The next thing I knew it I was in a special program where about five of us students missed a class or two to study the arts. We were taken on field trips to the local art museum to learn about the best and most successful artist that ever lived!I have a "PASSION," for all arts. I also wanted to play the flute in elementary school but was discouraged by a music teacher saying "You can't hold enough air in your lungs," I was devastated. I really wanted to play the flute! My step father said "Shelly you have long fingers, you should be learning to play the piano, but nobody ever proceeded to get me involved in those activites. Maybe money was a issue.However, being an artist is such a wonderful way to express your visual ideas! I Love It!
