Four Tips on How to Find Quality Wedding Vendors.

Your wedding day is your most important day of your life - right?  So, how do you ensure that you're choosing only the most reputable vendors who will ensure that you day goes off without a hitch? Follow these steps and you'll be one step closer to that goal!

Does your vendor have a website where you can view examples of their work and testimonials?   There is no excuse in 2013 to not have a website.  For example, my website for Lumen Photography is a great portal for potential wedding, portrait, and commercial clients to view my work.  Without it, I cannot show off my work and others cannot vet it.

How long has your vendor been in existence?  The age of a business can be a good indicator of their experience.  There is nothing wrong with choosing a new business so long as you realize that being newer may indicate a lack or resources, experience, etc.

Does your vendor have a contract for you to sign?  Contracts are to protect both parties and manage expectations!  Without it, you never know what may happen and you have no legal recourse (or minimal recourse).  A contract is a great way to make sure you understand what you're getting and what you have to give to get it.

Do you gel with their personality?  Do you get along with them?  I don't match every single client's expectations.  I brand myself as adventurous and couture but that means that an incredibly traditional client may want to go elsewhere.  Do you have things in common, something you can build a relationship of trust on?

Follow these pieces of advice and you'll be well on your way to choosing solid wedding vendors.  If you need a professional photographer, definitely consider Lumen Photography and use our contact form to let us know.

Thanks for reading.  One last bonus piece of advice.... trust your gut!
