Community Update

I have much I could say regarding most negative posts here. I am incredibly disappointed with the words some have chosen. I find it somewhat perplexing that some speak to bullying in such a way that keeps this issue alive. Bullying is a vicious cycle and YOU need to stop the cycle. Your words are hurtful. Your negativity is not only hurtful to the school itself but more so to the children and those who go above and beyond everyday to educate, support, care for and inspire your children in this building. There are many teachers who continue to work for you well past the end of the school day.

We, as a Community, have a very unique population of students which can bring on many challenges but we have more blessings than challenges. For those of you who take away from all the positives that happen in the building everyday-it is offensive and wrong. If you are able, come into IKE and volunteer. Allow your eyes to be open and your heart, as well. If you were there, what you'd see is Staff and Administration working incredibly hard to ensure each child matters and that they're given opportunities to learn and grow in a safe environment.

I have been a parent at this school for 10 years. Each time an incident or concern his arisen, it has been dealt with quickly and with care and concern for all those involved. Children make mistakes but as adults, it is how we chose to teach them to learn from those mistakes that matters. I hope that those of you who are unhappy with an experience stop and think first before you spread untrue statements about the school, as a whole. Your words end up 'bullying' others.

For those of us who have made IKE our home and part of our family, volunteering and devoting much of our own time to your children and others....your words are hurtful. Eisenhower is a great school and it has given my children, and others, a wonderful education!
