ANA Plant Swap and Sale

Yes!  It's finally spring and we can all be outside at last. On Saturday, May 28 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. we will have the first annual ANA plant swap and sale in the Alice Smith parking lot.  Bring your extra hostas, iris, peonies or whatever you have and swap with someone else to expand your garden.  If you don't want to swap but have extras please donate them to be sold at a nominal cost, $1 and up to benefit the ANA Treasury.  These will be plants currently growing in our Hopkins neighborhood so you know they are already established and right for our conditions.  Get tips from those who have grown them on how to be successful.  Here's how this works:  As you clean out your garden and divide your plants in the next couple of weeks, set aside your extras.  Be sure they are in pots (let us know if you need some), label them and note what color they are.  Then, on Friday, May 27th, drop them off at Kay Griggs home, 405 11th Ave. N.  Kay will note how many plants you are donating and give you a slip with that information on it.  You can use that slip the next day at the sale to pick up as many as you donated.  If you don't want to swap, you can drop them off and let Kay know they are a donation for the sale.  Those plants will be sold with the money going to the ANA Treasury.  There will also be a small area of inside house plants, too, so if you have some extras inside, bring them along.  Pick up a cup of coffee and a cookie for a dollar.  Come and visit with your neighbors, this will be a fun, festive event.  If you have any questions or can help for an hour or two please contact the co-chairs, Kay Griggs (952-935-8932) or Nancy Ohmann (952-933-4401).  This is a rain or shine event, hope to see you there!
