Food vendors including Aurelia’s of Eden Prairie will be selling authentic Mexican food on-site. The featured entertainment this year is Xibaba, a Brazilian Jazz band, and Kalpulli Ketzal Coatlicue Aztec Dance Troupe.
Xibaba’s lead band members, Mira and Tom Kehoe have a wide-range of performing arts experience. In addition to their musical performances, Mira and Tom are recording artists. The Kalpulli Ketzal Coatlicue Aztec Dance Troupe dress in full ornate traditional Aztec costumes and recreate the native Mayan dances of the past. They focus on the symbols of life represented in Mayan tradition and mix in contemporary dance moves. Drums, conch shells and other items from nature are used to connect the themes in their music.
The evening will end with a traditional sing-along at 7:30 p.m. This event is student-centered. All Minnetonka residents and surrounding communities are encouraged to attend.
