Serevi Rugby™ (www.serevirugby.com), an elite provider of on-field programming for coaches and players from beginner to Olympian, will host its second annual High Performance Training Camp in Minneapolis for girls and boys of all ages on Saturday, March 16th and Sunday, March 17th from 10am to 3pm. Held at the UofM Bubble (1720 8th Street SE, Minneapolis), programming will be led by Aaron Manheimer, national title winning coach of the Chicago Lions and member of the Collegiate All-American coaching staff, as well as USA Eagles 7s and 15s star Emilie Bydwell and former USA Eagle Pate Tuilevuka.

Serevi Rugby’s progression-based Training Camps focus on core rugby skills and are designed to develop players quickly over a two-day period. Players are segmented based on age and ability to ensure that everyone is appropriately challenged while coaches aim to help players execute core skills consistently under increasing amounts of game-like pressure. Focus areas include core rugby skills, spatial awareness, breakdown and tackle technique, attacking and defensive strategy, decision-making, and set piece play.

"After two days in camp, local coaches and players will walk away with an unmatched set of skills, techniques and drills that will take their game to the next level and they’ll have a blast doing it," said Manheimer. "The years of on-field experience brought by myself, Emilie, and Pate ensure this camp will provide the best in today’s rugby training techniques."

The Training Camp player fee is $150 for the full two days and includes 10 hours of instruction, camp t-shirt, cleat bag, and wristbands. Local teams who register five or more players will receive a $50 discount per player ($100 camp fee) and a coach can attend the Coaching Course for free. The Serevi Coaching Course will take place Friday, March 15th, 6pm to 9pm also at the UofM Bubble. All coaches that attend will gain five PDC credits toward their coaching credentials.

Now in its third year, Serevi Rugby continues to evolve its skills and coaching programming to create a beginner to Olympian pathway. At the beginner end, this means working with partners to introduce rugby to a new and much wider group of children and then steering them to clubs and high school teams. At the upper end, it means operating Olympic Development Academies in partnership with USA Rugby in Chicago, Seattle, and San Diego. Throughout, it means working with coaches to build technical skills and coaching knowledge.

As women’s rugby gains popularity with girls of all ages, Serevi has also recently launched a set of program exclusively dedicated to growing the women’s game. Directed by two leaders in the women’s game – Emilie Bydwell (US Women's 7s & XVs national teams) and Richie Walker (US Women's 7s national team technical skills coach) – Serevi programs are designed to create pathways for female rugby players to competitive college programs and, ultimately, to the national team.
