Pregnancy Bug Hits Three Former Raspberry Queens
Three former Hopkins Raspberry Festival queens are all pregnant
One former Raspberry queen becoming pregnant wouldn’t turn that many heads. Two former queens becoming pregnant at the same time might seem slightly coincidental. But three at the same time?
Three former queens—Rosie Hatfield, Andrea Lahouze and Melissa Saigh—are due around this fall and, even more coincidentally, they are all expecting girls.
Saigh said that she had never heard about anything like this happening before.
“I think it’s very cool and pretty fascinating. We all thought ‘how cool would it be if we all had girls,’ and then it happened,” she said.

The scale of the coincidence was not lost on Hatfield either.
“It’s a lot of fun because I figure it can’t be something in the water since I live in Florida, but it’s just a huge coincidence and I think it’s pretty funny," she said.

The three all met each other through the Raspberry Queen Candidate Program and other various pageant events. Although Hatfield now lives and works at the Hilton in Orlando, FL, the three of them still keep in contact through Facebook. According to Hatfield the three of them are planning on meeting at next summer’s Raspberry Festival coronation.
Saigh works for KSTP in the Twin Cities but also runs a website that is very relevant to her situation. The website, Minnesotababy.org, specializes in baby products and might have two very new customers.
The odds for anything like this ever happening again seem slim, but Saigh summed up the events with a dose of humor: “The only thing that would be a bigger coincidence is if all of our girls became Raspberry queens.”
