(PHOTOS) Avenues Neighbors Celebrate 4th of July

The Avenues Neighborhood Association hosted a parade Wednesday near Alice Smith Elementary.

Hopkins residents came together Wednesday to celebrate the Fourth of July at a get-together hosted by The Avenues Neighborhood Association.

Families met at the ball field to decorate bicycles, tricycles, scooters, inline skates and wagons in red, white and blue. As they decorated, a band organized by Alice Smith music teacher Robert Estrine played patriotic marches.

The families then pedaled down Minnetonka Mills as a handful of neighbors looked on. When the brief parade was over, the group headed back to the ball field to cool off with root beer floats.
