A crowd filled with the holiday spirit braved Friday’s cold to celebrate Hopkins’ 28th-annual Christmas tree lighting in Downtown Park. The crowd listened to Christmas carols led by Phillip Brown and the Hopkins High School Choral and Alumni Group then counted down to the tree lighting.

A Hopkins man has been accused of driving a stolen car through north Minneapolis.

Police say Tarey Marquan Hill, also known as Tarey Marquan Hamilton-Hill and Tarey Marquan Hamilton, 18, was arrested Nov. 15 in the area of Seventh Street and Seventh Avenue North, driving a Toyota Camry that had been reported stolen from a St. Paul driveway a day earlier.

Hopkins Man Charged with Burglarizing Vacant Home

A Hopkins man has been charged with burglarizing a vacant home on Blake Road North and telling police that he broke in to steal materials that he could sell for scrap.

2 People Dead After Minnetonka House Fire

A house fire on Westwood Road in Minnetonka resulted in the death of two people Friday. The victims were later identified as Brian Neil Humphry, 78, and Mary Sandra Humphrey, 76.
