How Long Before ‘The Great Hopkins Snow Pile’ Finally Melts?

Leave your best guess for when you think the 11th Avenue snow dump will be gone.

Each winter, Hopkins crews dump snow in a great pile at the very southern end of 11th Avenue—and this year’s pile stretches the better part of a block because of all the winter’s snowfall.

With the warm weather finally here, Patch wants to know how long you think it will be before The Great Hopkins Snow Pile™. Will it be here another couple weeks? Another month? Another few months?

Leave your guesses in the comments section below, and Patch will check back when the pile is finally gone.

I hope by May 1st. I'm pretty tired of looking at this pile every year.

The snow pile wouldn't be so bad to look at if the snow were actually white instead of black dirt encrusted. Hopkins should do like Edina. Put it in a non-noticeable area, such as Bresdesen Park in Edina. BTW, where is Al Gore "Mr. Doomsday" on global warming? Al, tell it to the people of Bismarck and Fargo this week!

A specific storm is actually "weather" "Climate" is long term trending. Notice the loss of polarcaps and glacier over the last 60 years. Climate change can in fact cause changes in local weather patterns and local cooling by shifting air and water currents while the global weather and climate warm over time. The climate when plants captured carbon to produce the volume of organic materials that later became fossil fuels was tropical. Releasing the carbon back into the atmosphere will induce warming.

I predict June 9. That my sons birthday. I hope it melts by tomorrow since that's my turnaround with my school bus. :/
