Drop Off Your Household Hazardous Waste With Hennepin County

The county has three collection events in the upcoming months.

Hennepin County is offering residents three opportunities to dispose of garden and household hazardous waste, according to a county news release.

The county is hosting collection events from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Thursday through Saturday at the following date and locations

  • Minneapolis: July 26–28, Dunwoody College of Technology (818 Dunwoody Blvd.) 
  • Minneapolis: Aug. 16–18, Pillsbury School parking lot (2231 Garfield St. N.E.) 
  • Shorewood: Sept. 13–15, City of Shorewood Public Works Department (24200 Smithtown Road)

In addition, Hennepin County has permanent drop-off facilities open year-round at 1400 W. 96th St. in Bloomington and 8100 Jefferson Highway in Brooklyn Park.

Waste the county accepts includes household, lawn and garden products; items containing mercury; electronics; and auto and fuel waste. The drop-offs are only available for households, not businesses.
