Blake Road to Close Temporarily in August for Crossing Replacement
The road will be closed for at least four days starting Aug. 6.
Residents accustomed to driving on Blake Road should make other plans for the first part of August.
The county will close a portion of the road north of Excelsior starting Aug. 6 in order for Canadian Pacific to reconstruct the railroad crossing, according to a Hennepin County announcement.
The closure is expected to last four days, but progress depends on the weather.

There will be a marked detour using Excelsior Boulevard, Highway 169 and Highway 7.
Residents will still be able to access businesses from either end of Blake Road, said City Engineer John Bradford.
