What Do You Think of The New Mayon Plastics Building?

New renderings offer a glimpse of what the building will look like.

Developers have submitted an artist’s rendering that gives residents a taste of what the new building on the old Mayon Plastics site will look like.

DJR Architecture and Swervo Development Corp. plan to remove the west side of the building. That will leave the east side with 10,800 square feet of retail space—allowing up to seven retailers in the building.

The project is on track for a late fall completion.

In the meantime, Patch wants to know what you think of the project. Is it an attractive addition to the intersection of Hopkins Crossroads and Highway 7? What types of businesses would you like to see occupy the spaces inside? Share your thoughts in the comments below.

I am excited! It looks so much nicer than that ugly color it had. I think we have enough tanning salons, nail places, and Chinese food in Hopkins. Gamestop is a good idea with all the gaming options out there.

It'll be good to get that eye-sore fixed up. Kudos to whomever bought it! Actually, I think we need a better Chinese take-out place, Jamba Juice, and Noodles would be great. And, good gracious...get a Brueggers in somewhere!

Good call. We don't have any bagel places besides Nelson's bakery. I love Jamba Juice and Noodles also! Mmmmm.

Einsteins Bagels, a good Chinese/Vietnamese option, soup/sandwich place would be nice. Any new food options on that corner other than Perkins. That's all there is near that intersection.(NO more coffee places, McDonalds, Subway...enough already!)

Einstein is just down Shady Oak & I heard Brueggers is going into the new construction off Hwy 7 & Blake across from the Holiday gas station - whoot! I definitely think we need more Asian options, Jamba Juice - definitely!
