Marketplace & Main Accepting Reservations

Move-ins will start July 2012.

The long-planned Marketplace & Main project is at last accepting reservations for its 53 high-end apartment units—with the first move-ins scheduled for July 2012.

Marketplace & Main, a mixed-use project by the development firm The Beard Group, has been delayed throughout its planning process. Most recently,  held the project back.

But the developers in July and have steadily been progressing with construction—as evidenced by the sizable hole at the corner of Seventh Avenue and Mainstreet.

The building has 15 different floor plans. Prices start at $1,095 for a one bedroom in the 700-square-foot range, Steven Scott Management, the company that will manage the apartments, told Thursday’s meeting of the Hopkins Business & Civic Association. They will climb to more than $2,000 for two- and three-bedroom apartments approaching 1,400 square feet.

The property already has its first resident signed up. Beard Group owner said his mother has reserved a space.

The four-story building will have retail space on the first floor. There are not yet any retailers lined up, Beard said. He expects the space to be filled with “everyday goods and services.”

The building will already have vents and other elements required for eateries, but Beard said there probably won’t be a full-service restaurant.
