Bites Nearby: Good Food for Great Price at Star Wok

A Hopkins mainstay for more than 10 years, Star Wok offers patrons food for the entire family for a price that won't back the bank.

With rising gas prices driving up food prices, it’s rare to find lots of food at a decent price. It’s even harder to find a meal that will fill you up for under $6. Yet does both, and does it well.

Every day but Sunday, the Chinese restaurant located on Mainstreet in downtown Hopkins features a lunch special from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Diners can pick from a variety of entrees—each served with pork fried rice and choice of wonton, egg drop or hot and sour soup. Each costs less than $5.50.

Unlike many of it’s competitors, the Star Wok serves traditional Egg Foo Young dishes, and Chow Mei Fun (thin noodles stir-friend with choice or meat or vegetable), not a common entrée in Chinese restaurants. For those watching their weight or with special diet concerns, Star Wok features a health food section, serving sauce on the side and vegetarian dishes. For picky eaters, Star Wok offers American dishes and rice dishes sure to please anyone.
