Office Max Surprises MSSPA Teacher With an Award

Office Max came to the Main Street School of Performing Arts yesterday and honored teacher Allison Miller as part of their "A Day Made Better" program—a  nationwide program that surprised 1,000 teachers in classrooms across the county with $1,000 worth of school supplies each.

A total of $1 million in supplies was awarded yesterday. Here's a clip of the news from the MSSP website, a photo, and a link to more info about the A Day Made Better program. We are thrilled for Ms. Miller and MSSPA in receiving this award!
Would be great if you could include a mention of this awesome award in an upcoming Patch! Ms. Miller and  Office Manager Amanda Connaire (who nominated Ms. Miller) are available for interviews ;-)

News from MSSPA: 10/1/13: MSSPA was surprised today with a visit from Office Max to honor Ms. Allison Miller as a recepient of their A Day Made Better program! Ms. Miller was nominated by MSSPA Office Manager Amanada Connaire for her continual dedication to all MSSPA students, not only in her math class room, but as the Gifted and Talented coordinator. Ms. Miller is regarded as a leader among the MSSPA staff. Congratulations, Ms. Miller... and thank you!

Office Max's A Day Made Better: Today marks the seventh year of A Day Made Better, in which OfficeMax associates surprise 1,000 teachers in their classrooms with $1,000 each worth of school supplies -- $1 million in sum. The national initiative aims to relieve and support teachers who spend their own money on much-needed classroom supplies. OfficeMax consumers and business clients contributed nearly $700,000 in additional school supplies through this summer's in-store supply drive held at OfficeMax stores across the country. These additional supplies will be donated Oct. 1 to the schools where teachers are being honored through OfficeMax's A Day Made Better program.
