Hopkins Native, Superstars' Photographer Returns for Book Signing

Native son Jimmy Steinfeldt is coming home.

Born and raised in Hopkins, Steinfeldt used the community as a launching pad to greatness in the 1980's, photographing the likes of Prince and Madonna. His work landed him in the pages of famous magazines like Rolling Stone and Time. By 1996, he had built such a following that he moved to Hollywood to found his own photography studio.

Now, according to the Sun Sailor, Steinfeldt is returning to Hopkins to tout his first book, a collection of his most cherished photographs from thirty years shooting the music business.

“It’s the size of an old-fashioned record,” he told the newspaper. “That’s the reason I made my book the same dimensions.”

The signing for “Rock ‘N’ Roll Lens” will take place from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Monday, July 15, at Bud’s Music Center, 820 Mainstreet, Hopkins.
