Hopkins Center for the Arts Welcomes Dakota Air

The show is kicking off its expansion into the Twin Cities with a broadcast Saturday in Hopkins.

Dakota Air: The Radio Show is kicking off its expansion into the Twin Cities with a at the .

The live variety show is hosted by Executive Producer Merrill Piepkorn and includes musical acts and comedy. Each radio show features music by The Radio Stars and comedy by professional acting company, The Dakota Airheads.

Regional guest performers will join the Dakota Air cast in Hopkins to provide a night of fine music and comedy, highlight the history and culture of Hopkins and the surrounding community and celebrate the German-Russian experience and heritage in the United States.

Guest performers in the Hopkins show include:

“We’re excited to be bringing Dakota Air’s outstanding cast to the Twin Cities area, and to be showcasing talents of Minnesota- and Dakota-grown guest stars as we celebrate Hopkins and take a light-hearted look at the heritage of German-Russians in the upper Midwest,” Piepkorn was quoted in a news release from Prairie Airwaves and The North Star Chapter of Minnesota—an organization dedicated to the preservation of “Germans from Russia” heritage. “We couldn’t ask for a finer venue than Hopkins Center for the Arts—the Center’s commitment to the arts and education is a perfect match to the mission and spirit of Dakota Air: The Radio Show.”

The show will be recorded for broadcast across multiple states and into Canada on the Prairie Public Broadcasting network.
