Final Performances of 'A Midsummer Night's Dream' This Weekend in Hopkins

The performance is being put on by Main Street School of Performing Arts students and recent college grads.

After opening for audiences on July 25, the Shakespeare classic "A Midsummer Night's Dream" will end its run at Hopkins' Main Street School of Performing Arts Aug. 3.

The show features Main Street students as well as recent college graduates, and even a few puppets.

"It's theatre that is growing out of a community," Director Rob Thompson said in a press release.

The scene is set in a post-war world, where a tent city has been constructed at an abandoned drive-in movie theater.

There are two shows left at 8 p.m. on both Aug. 2 and Aug. 3. The show is free and spectators are encouraged to bring a lawn chair and other summer necessities, as the show is outdoors.
