Concert Wednesday Raises Money for Cystic Fibrosis Cure

The Vikings Children's Fund Presents 'Camden's Concert.'

For the second year, a 3-year-old boy with a serious disease has inspired a fund-raising event at the .

Camden Mona—son of Kirk and Chelsey Mona and the only grandchild to Dave and Linda Mona and Robert and Gail Carter—has cystic fibrosis, an inherited chronic disease that affects the lungs and digestive system of about 30,000 children and adults in the United States. A defective gene causes the body to produce unusually thick, sticky mucus that makes it hard to breathe and affects digestion. Research and treatments have dramatically extended life expectancy but there is still no cure

On Wednesday, the Minnesota Vikings Children’s Fund will present the Second-Annual Camden’s Concert, a yearly musical benefit to raise money for research into a cure for Cystic Fibrosis.

The theme is “Camden’s Concert Goes Irish” and will bring the Irish-born duo Evans & Doherty to perform and entertain. Last year, Camden’s Concert raised more than $25,000 for Cystic Fibrosis research.

Where:

Cost: $25 for a ticket or $100 for a ticket and pre-concert reception with the artists. Tickets are available by visiting the Center for the Arts box office or calling the box office at 952-979-1111. Box office hours are Tuesday through Saturday, 12-6 p.m.
