Arts Council Grant to Bring Street Performances to Hopkins

The activities will take place in the summer and fall.

The Friends of the Hopkins Center for the Arts will be bringing street performances to the community with help from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, the council announced Wednesday.

The council awarded the Friends a $5,000 grant to fund five street performances and allow the use of technology to enhance a self-guided tour of Hopkins’ Artstreet.

Activities will take place in the summer and fall.

The Hopkins grant was part of a $317,438 package of grants awarded to 66 organizations through the council’s Community Arts grant program. The organizations and projects chosen had to demonstrate both strong artistic quality and a connection to a community.
