LIVE VIDEO: Music, Interviews Encourage People to ‘Give to the Max’

The live stream from the Mall of America runs from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. and includes performances from Alison Scott, R&B artist Mayda and OSO.

This week, thousands of Minnesota nonprofits will ask supporters to maximize their charitable dollars by donating during GiveMN.org’s Give to the Max Day.

The Nov. 15 event offers incentives to inspire nonprofit and donor participation. Every hour, one nonprofit donor and one K-12 public schools donor will be randomly chosen to win “golden tickets that add $1,000 to their donation. A nonprofit and K-12 donor will also be selected randomly from the 24 hour-period to have $10,000 added to their donation.

Prizes are also available for the top-earning nonprofits—with $12,500 for first place, $5,000 for second place and $2,500 for third place.

In order to build excitement, the Mall of America is hosting a day of activities—including performances from Alison Scott, R&B artist Mayda and OSO. Catch all the excitement in this live feed, courtesy of The UpTake.

Dozens of organizations in the GiveMN database call Hopkins home—more than the casual philanthropist could ever keep track of. Just click the nonprofit you’re interested in on the list below and then click “donate.”

Don’t want to wait until Nov. 15? Just look for the link in the donation options that reads “schedule one for Give to the Max Day 2012.” GiveMN will wait until 12:01 p.m. Nov. 15 to process your payment.

So let’s hear your stories about the good work these groups have done. Which of them are deserving of your charitable gifts?
