2011 Raspberry Festival: Sporting Events

Work up an appetite for raspberries and other festival foods with the wide variety of sports offered.

The 77th annual Hopkins Raspberry Festival runs Saturday, July 9 through Sunday, July 17 in downtown Hopkins. With various kid-, adult- and family-friendly sports to participate in, working off all those raspberries should be a breeze!

ResourceWest Co-Ed Kickball Tournament

A fundraising tournament for the local ResourceWest outreach center which serves communities and families in need.  Teams include at least 10 people and are co-ed.

Bowling with the Royal Family

Flat City Bike Race

With different course lengths for kids and young adults, this race is sure to offer something for everyone. Race fees are $25 for adults, $10 for juniors, and free for kids.  Cash and prizes are awarded to winners of races.

Men’s Softball Tournament

Soap Box Derby

Entry fee of $25 per person includes car kit and building instructions; races of all ages welcomed, those under 18 will need a signed parent consent form to race. Trophies given for First, second and third place.

Jaycees Waterball Tournament

The third annual waterball contest takes place on one court with modified international rules with a limit of 16 teams, with a cost of $30 per team or $50 for two teams to benefit the American Cancer Society.

5-Mile/1-Mile Raspberry Run

Minnesota’s second-oldest race through Hopkins is open to runners of all ages and all participants will receive a T-shirt. Gift certificates will be awarded to winners in all age groups.
