An estimated 52 neighborhood parties took place Tuesday evening.
Hopkin residents gathered across the city Tuesday evening to celebrate 2012 National Night Out. Now in its 29th year, the event is intended to heighten drug and crime prevention awareness while celebrating police-community partnerships. Sponsored by the National Association of Town Watch, 52 block or neighborhood parties were held in Hopkins from 5:30-9 p.m. this year.
Members of Hopkins’ Police and Fire departments did their best to visit each and every party around the city.
“We’re going to as many parties as we can make it to,” said Hopkins Police Chief Mike Reynolds.
