Patch Picks: Hopkins St. Patrick's Day Celebrations

The best places in Hopkins to show your green.

Every March, Hopkins residents can't wait to get their Irish on and have some corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew and green beer. Patch has compiled a list of the best St. Patrick's Day celebrations. Show your green!

"'Tis the world's shortest parade ... so you don't have to walk far!" At least that's the claim for this Hopkins tradition. In addition to the parade, there are prizes for the best green costume, Hopkins Raspberry royalty and free hot dogs and pop for those who wear the St. Pat's Dollar Button. Corned beef and cabbage will also be served throughout the day at the Elks, American Legion and , starting at 11:30am. Cost for the food is $10 per person.

When: Starts at 4:30 p.m. on St. Patrick's Day

Where: Starts at Hopkins Elks Lodge #2221 (30 Eigth Ave. S.) and continues to (10 12th Ave. S.)

 

St. Patrick's Day specials include:

  • Corn beef and cabbage all day,
  • Mulligan Stew (lamb and potato stew),
  • Killian beer special,
  • Green beer,
  • $2.75 domestic taps, domestic bottles, house wine and bar pours and $1 off corn beef special with beverage,
  • Mingo (Bingo) at 6:30 p.m.

 

There will also be a happy hour from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., and musical guests The What Nots will perform at 9 p.m.

 

St. Patrick's Day specials include:

  • Free corned beef sandwiches from 5 p.m. until they're gone
  • Specials on Jameson, Bushmills, Irish Car Bombs, Baileys, Guinness and more,
  • Best dressed "Irish Style" giveaway,
  • Live DJ with Rising Stars from 9:30 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
