Minnesotans' Military Appreciation Fund honored a Hopkins soldier at the Nov. 8 Timberwolves game as part of the Timberwolves' Operation Minnesota Heroes program, the fund announced.

Sgt. Robert Hutton served with the U.S. Army 339th Psychological Operations Company in Afghanistan from April 2012 to September 2012. The organization honored him with a $500 grant check. He also received a Timberwolves jersey during the presentation.

The Minnesotans’ Military Appreciation Fund is a nonprofit that raises money to provide cash grants to Minnesota military personnel as a “thank you” for their service. So far, the organization has awarded nearly 15,000 grants worth more than $9 million.
