A group that provides health education and advocacy to Somali women is inviting residents to its first-ever Somali/healthcare provider event.
Isuroon’s event will share research on the reproductive health of Somali women and best practices for culturally competent childbirth and child spacing programs. A light lunch will be provided.
Daniel Wordsworth, president of the American Refugee Committee, will be the keynote speaker. It will also feature the following panel of guest speakers:
- Fartun Weli: Executive Director, Isuroon
- Nancy Deyo, MA: Senior Advisor, Women's Refugee Commission
- Mary Malotky: Certified Nurse Midwife, Hennepin County Medical Center
- Stephanie Walters, MD, MPH: Medical Director, Macalester University
A light lunch will be provided.
The event takes place from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at 120 South Sixth Street, Suite 400 in Minneapolis.
