Wonderland Asian Massage and one of its masseuses are accused of hiring unlicensed masseuses.
Hopkins officials want to revoke two more massage licenses because of alleged business violations, according to the packet for Tuesday’s City Council meeting. The action arises because of allegations that Wonderland Asian Massage had more than the lone masseuse allowed under that business’ massage therapy establishment license. Staff are asking the City Council to revoke the license of Julio Alaniz, who was doing business as Wonderland Asian Massage at 7 Seventh Ave. N., because of accusations that he failed to properly supervise an employee or independent contractor. They also want to revoke the license of Yang Yu, who is accused of hiring unlicensed masseuses. Police investigated the massage parlor after noticing customer activity that …

A bill to let states impose sales tax on big online retailers passed the U.S. Senate Monday. Minnesota Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken voted for the Marketplace Fairness Act, as did many Republicans.
Why should online shoppers pay sales tax? Why or why not? Leave a comment below. You could pay the same sales tax for online purchases as you do for shopping at a physical store if a bill that passed the U.S. Senate Monday becomes law. The Marketplace Fairness Act would allow states to collect sales tax from retailers with more than $1 million in annual gross sales to out-of-state customers. Sens. Amy Klobuchar and Al Franken (both DFL-MN) voted yes, joined by 67 other senators including 21 Republicans. The company is moving from Jackson Avenue North to 11th Avenue South.
Packaged juice and beverage manufacturer Citrus Systems Inc. is moving into the Cornerstone Business Center at 401 11th Ave. S., Twin Cities Business reported Monday. The company is moving into the 132,000-square-foot facility from the 71,000-square-foot plant at 125 Jackson Ave. N. it’s occupied since October 2003, according to the publication. The move comes as a result of increased demand for the company’s products. President and founder Tom Boehland told Twin Cities Business that he expects to add to the company’s 52-person workforce but that plans haven’t yet been solidified.
