On Wednesday, President Barack Obama continued the tradition of pardoning a Thanksgiving turkey.

Cobbler, a bird from Harrisonburg, VA, was chosen as the official White House turkey by votes from people across the county.

“And once again, Nate Silver completely nailed it. The guy's amazing. He predicted these guys would win," Obama joked, referring to the New York Times statistical analyst who predicted the president’s election victory.

Cobbler gobbled as the president approached to give him his pardon.

“Because of your votes, the only Cobbler anyone’s eating this Thanksgiving will come with a side of ice cream,” Obama said.

The president also spared, Gobbler, who is waiting as a backup turkey if Cobbler can’t fulfill his Thanksgiving duties.
