Victims Identified in Minnetonka House Fire
A married couple was found deceased in their home on Westwood Road after the Friday night fire.
The names of the victims in the Friday night fire on Westwood Road in Minnetonka were released Sunday.
Brian Humphry, 78, and Sandy Humphrey, 76, were found dead in their home at 19 Westwood Road after the fire was extinguished. Both victims' times of death were listed as 12:20 a.m. Saturday morning by the Hennepin County Medical Examiner. The report stated that the couple "died of injuries suffered in a house fire."
Authorities were called to the scene north of I-394 around 10:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 24. The house was engulfed in flames when they arrived.
Two bodies were found inside the home after the fire was extinguished.
The Humphreys raised their three children in the Minnetonka home.
Sandra McLeod Humphrey was an author of children's books with the intent to better the world. Her books have titles such as these Dare to Dream!: 25 Extraordinary Lives and Hot Issues, Cool Choices: Facing Bullies, Peer Pressure, Popularity, and Put-downs.
Brian Humphrey was very involved with ICA Food Shelf. He worked with the food shelf as a partner from Oak Knoll Lutheran Church. He organized food drives for the homeless, among many other services to the community.
The State Fire Marshall and Hennepin County Medical Examiner continue to investigate the cause of the fire.
