Hopkins Residents Run Strong at Twin Cities Marathon
In all, 27 local residents finished the race.
Two Hopkins runners cracked the top 10 of their divisions in Sunday’s 2012 Medtronic Twin Cities Marathon.
Joanna Masloski placed fifth out of 575 runners in the women’s 35 to 39 age group with a time of 3:01:16. That time—a pace of 6:56 per mile—made her the fastest Hopkins runner, 32nd among all women and 273rd overall.
Leonard Coequyt placed sixth out of 59 runners in the men’s 65 to 69 age group with a time of 3:47:58—an 8:43 per mile pace that made him 2,320th overall.
In all, 27 Hopkins residents finished the race.
Sunday’s race saw 8,781 people total finish—5,094 men and 3687 women. The average finishing time was 4:16:41.
